Whats in Store for Xbox 360 Owners at E3 2008? |

E3 begins next week and Microsoft's David Gosen has said in an interview that Microsoft would have "fantastic surprises awaiting everybody at E3". Does this mean a party bag full of money and plastic figures? We hope not. We're hoping for a bag of goodies including: Price Cut, Blu Ray Support and new dashboard - maybe in 3d? Also, how's about some motion controllers?
The ESA organized 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit will take place in LA starting July 16th. It is expected that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo reveal some details on what we can expect this fall and holiday shopping season.
MCV in the UK has the full interview with David Gosen. http://www.mcvuk.com/interviews/276/Back-with-a-Bang

Price cuts on consoles are funny things in terms of buzz. I agree it is good for the 360 which I'm obviously a fan of but it seems that the people most excited are the ones that already have a 360.
I'm not down playing it. Just making an observation. I know that lower prices that mean more sales which means PS3 crushing NPD numbers which is the true payoff for those of us who already have a 360.
It is just funny though. There are not a lot of industries where the owners of a retail good get so excited about a price drop of an item they already bought.
Can you imaging being excited after buying a car to learn that the price is being dropped? Not only would you not be excited but most people would be unhappy. Not so in the console market. :)

#1: Sega has already been bought out by Sammy. #2: .....hopefully...... with an Unreal Engine liscence straight from Epic to Bungie #3: .....(*rolls eyes*) #4: ..that would really be cool. Its sad that since HD-DVD "died", Bluray still isnt selling that well. I mean , its not like the movie industry isnt producing movies based on that format, but its still not making enough of a impact. BluRay needs HD-DVD to help them look better.

SEGA has been bought out before and out and out and out ;). So that Sammy owns them now doesn't mean a thing (not that I see MS buying SEGA btw. But if one company owns them doesn't mean another company can buy it from them. SEGA of America used to be property of Bally ;))
