Offset Engine Sneak Preview |

Offset Software have recently released their Offset Engine Sneak Preview #2 which invludes a movie that show cases some of the engines features. Not many know about Project Offset because it hasn't been tagged with a Next Generation System. But chances are this might end up in someones next gen developer kit down the road.
Offset's Sneak Peek #2 movie is here!
This movie shows off some of the capabilities of the Offset Engine, such as
HDR lighting, unified shadowing, and motion blur, as well as environments
and characters from our epic fantasy FPS "Project Offset". The movie is
available in two HD formats, 1280x720p and 852x480p.

About Offset Software:
Offset Software is a group of just 3 guys working out of an apartment who
are currently looking for a publisher: Sam McGrath, Travis Stringer and
Trevor Stringer. Sam does the programming while Travis and Trevor do the
art. The engine and all art thus far has been created with a tiny budget --
just enough to purchase the software and hardware we need for development.
However, although our budget may be small, our goal is big. We are creating
an AAA next generation game (codenamed "Project Offset"), and a powerful
game engine to run it.

Keep in mind, there are only a few guys working on this project and it looks like something the boys at Epic Games would create.

the article says they havent identified which system they're creating the game for. but the fact that the video is showing up on a multitude of xbox sites seems to indicate these fellas are available. (for possible aquistion by M$)
if these guys can do this with "off the shelf" 3d software and a home pc, then what are the rest of you guys waiting for (ahem... Madgamer2)
the whole game development community will probably be reaching out to these guys by the end of the week.
(gets letter and proposal from EA to "become part of an exclusively diversified development community whose goal is to facillitate creation of ORIGINAL IDEAS "... lol.)

I talked with one of the guys, at this point their just trying to get an xbox 360 developer kit. Hopefully Microsoft gives it to them. |

GOOD!,... I hope M$ responds,..these guys appear to have some potential. perhaps with a little grooming and mentoring by M$(in addition to an x360 dev kit) this team could be on there way to making some quality product.
