Spider-man is back and he’s better than ever, with a brand new look and a manic action-packed, story-driven adventure that pits him against a veritable who’s who of the Super Villain world, including one of the comic series’ all-time popular villains.
Designed by Dr. Edward Brock and Dr. Richard Parker (Peter’s father) the Venom suit was conceived in an attempt to develop a cure for cancer. Recently, the two men’s sons—Peter Parker and Eddie Brock Jr.—discovered the final remaining sample of the Venom suit. By experimenting with it, they unwittingly unleashed the nightmarish presence of Venom.
After a crazed battle, Eddie and the Venom suit vanished in a flash of electricity. Peter, unfortunately learns one fundamental rule of the super hero business: “If there’s no corpse—the guy’s alive.”
Now, three months later, Peter Parker continues his double life as both high school student and Spider-Man. Unbeknownst to Peter, Venom is terrorizing the streets of New York once again. As are the usual assortment of psycho super villains. It’s all going to add up to a frenzied adventure for gamers everywhere.
In a novel twist, Ultimate Spider-Man casts you both as the world’s most famous Super Hero and one of his most menacing nemeses, Venom. The creative team behind Marvel’s best-selling “Ultimate Spider-Man” comic books—including Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley—has written and illustrated an original storyline that fits snugly into the “Ultimate Spider-Man” series of comics.
Set in a massive free-roaming New York City environment, including Spider-Man’s home borough of Queens, the game delivers the most in-depth Spider-Man adventure to date with a variety of demanding missions, diverse gameplay, and a new combat system that allows players to face off against the largest number of interactive characters from the Marvel universe ever assembled in a Spider-Man game.
With gameplay that unfolds through interactive comic book panels and innovative 3D Comic Inking Technology, gamers will be seamlessly integrated into an exciting virtual comic book experience of their own making

Looks great . But what do you think about this? A few weeks back we visited the Computer Gaming World offices, and they wrote up a cool 2 page article about us. I dont like the look. I know its artist veiw, and I accept that, but not my taste. Dont come down on me, or yell at me, Im just being honest. I dont like the look. The gameplay sounds great, you play spidey and/or Venom. I love that idea. Dont remember when we were given the chance to play both sides in a game. We had games you got to play as another person, but not as the enemy. Shame I will not get to try it, waitting on the 360.

Hey dudes, this game is sweet! just imagine your actually reading a comic book and the thing comes alive before your eyes, simply put awsome. Yes you can play as Venom, and he is nasty!! I just beat Wolverine, talk about a cool and gruesome fight. There are times when you have to click left and right quickly, for instance Wolvey and Venom tie up, well I did not hit em quick enough and got smashed through the window. Four out of five stars!!

I agree with spartan. The game is definitely worth playing , but it is rather short. If you choose to look for all of the concept art and other extras hiddden throughout the city then I'm sure it will take forever, but the game itself is'nt long enough for me.
