Moore - People Will Buy Xbox 360 and Wii For The Price Of PS3

Well Mr. Moore that is exactly what I am doing. It doesn't make any sense why you would buy a Playstation 3 instead of getting two systems for that price. Especially when there are much cooler games coming out for both of these than the PS3. Unless of course you need MGS4 or FFXIII, in which case, sucks for you.

A bundle, which would never happen, would probably be a hugh win for MSFT and Nintindo. No parent will buy a PS3 over two systems for the same price. This will allow MSFT to not only retain the market share when the PS3 comes out but probably expand it as well.

While I don't see this happening, it is more possible because with this generation Nintindo isn't trying to take the other two head on. They do something a little different so it is easier to partner with them. The Ubisoft comments and Moore's comments show that MSFT is, at the least, not hostile toward Nintindo and see them as an under dog to be cheered for.

MSFT does have a head start but the PS3 will eventuall get the bugs worked out and mid next year, it will have some sweet games just like the 360 has coming out now. Once that happens, MSFT will starting lossing some of the market share but if they were to partner with Nintindo. It would blow Sony away.

It is soo crazy that I can't see it happening but it just seems to be so good for both MSFT and Nintindo.

I think he underestimates just how expensive the 360 is. Sure it's A LOT cheaper than a PS3, but you can be sure MS will drop their price at least $100 when the PS3 comes out - making it easy for anyone on the fence about getting a PS3 or 360.

MS has the ball in their court on this one. dropping the price will bury sony

right now i would rather sell my 360 now then buy it again when all the good games are out and the prices is more then 1.2 of it is right now. or just hold on to it. i bought it to soon.

It is worth noting that the 360 HD drive add on will make the system cost the same as the PS3 which comes with it.

Actually it really isnt worth noting..as its not included with the system. Such a move by MS to discontinue selling the 2 sku's and to make 1 sku with the hd-dvd add on is total suicide. I hope that MS knows that....and I hope they dont do it. And yes the PS3 is slighty overpriced, as it is their fault for trying to promote next gen tech in its early stages. Consumers always decide when tech evolves...not Sony. So thumbs down to Sony this Gen.

Peter Moore is a legend. Not only does he do a superb job of marketing the xbox and xbox360 (a tattoo of Halo etc) but he doesnt become blind to the innovation of other developers such as Nintendo. Its good how he appreciates rivals rather than shoving the same old rhetoric that sony do at us. I think its so arrogant when Sony say "the next generation starts when we say it does" if I worked for a company like Ubisoft developing games like GRAW i know i would take great offence to that.

I think a Wii and 360 bundle would be a great idea at least from a gamers viewpoint. A lot of the developers making Wii games could also develop for the 360. In the long run the 360 would benefit from more games but also the developers could develop more innovative game engines and software to improve both systems.

getting a Dev Kit from MS is also going to get cheaper before it gets higher. With Vista around the corner MS continues to dominate PC gaming and they know they will benefit from this. i was on the fence of actually buying a sony system this time around as i owned and loved the oringal playstation. but 599 for a system is nuts. im at the level of geek where i know i would have to go an buy a 1080p tv. the 599 isnt so much as people want to admit, yea its more than before, but its like the psp. its only 249 fine, but now you have to look at memory i dont know about anyone else but i have to go with the max. and the only game i like on it is wipeout so i got a ds lite with the 4gb HDD from datel. 129.99+149.99 thats 290 and now i can watch movies, listen to music, play games for 2 platforms of which i have about 30. anyways my point is i think the blu ray thing is really going to hurt sony , along with ken kuturagi. if u dont plan on buying a 1080 p tv anytime soon then dont bother with the ps3 blu ray isnt worth it. sony is gambling with a new optical drive at the same time gambling with their entertainment division. the PS2 wasnt the first electronic device with DVD . it had already been out for well over a year it was only after its succes that Sony decided to hold off and delay the ps2 to add it in. i remember when i got my dreamcast ps2 was supposed to come out soon after but delayed a year later. My point through all of this ranting and raving is that peter moore is really right. he's not really in charge of anything they do finanancialy but he is the voice of MS and lets face it, MS isn't rich by accident. the push for live anywhere is for MS to fight sony on all fronts, if u dont like console gaming and live go on ur new vista computer and game over Windows Live. Microsoft will finally dethrone the "microsoft of video games" sony , sorry kuturagi, i used to admire all yall but you just lost it u and that bumbling british billy corgan
