Xbox.com has always been the place to find out about new games and hardware, learn about your fellow gamers, and check out upcoming events. With the launch of My Xbox in October 2005, Xbox.com became your second Xbox Live place. You can now check your gamerscore, compare achievements with friends, and keep track of your forum posts, all right here on Xbox.com.

But we're not done yet! My Xbox continues to add features and benefits for gamers. Check out what's new this time: friends management.

Now you can jump right over to My Xbox, type
in a gamertag, and send someone a friend request.

We know it's great to be able to see your friends list in Xbox.com's My Xbox area. It's cool to see who's online and what they're playing. You can even see if you've got pending friend requests. You could be surfing from work or school and see that someone sent you a request. You think, "Cool! I'll have to accept that when I get home and fire up my Xbox 360 console."

Well, our crack My Xbox team has made it so you can accept (or decline) those friend requests right on the Web!

Or say you're hanging out in the ever-lively Xbox.com forums. You get in a friendly conversation about a certain game, or you challenge someone to a showdown. Before, you'd have to write down their gamertag, or hope they remembered yours.

"It's only a portion of what we've got up
our sleeves, and we're going to continue
working 24/7/365 to bring more to you."

—Clinton "Tonic" Fowler, My Xbox Lead Program Manager

Now you can jump right over to My Xbox, type in a gamertag, and send someone a friend request—quick, before you forget their 'tag.

My Xbox Lead Program Manager Clinton "Tonic" Fowler had this to say about the new features: "When we shipped My Xbox back in the fall, we were pretty pumped to be extending the Xbox experience to the Web. How cool was it to see your gamer card on Xbox.com, in the forums, and on your own personal Web site!? Pretty cool, right!? Well, that's only a portion of what we've got up our sleeves, and we're going to continue working 24/7/365 to bring more to you."

Clinton continued, "So this month, we've brought you friends management. I can't tell you how long we've wanted to do this feature and it's finally here. You don't have to look at those pending friend requests anymore and you also don't have to wait 'til you get to the console to send a friend request to that guy or gal in the forums!"

If you've already got a gamer card, sign in to My Xbox and check out the new features. If you haven't signed up for My Xbox yet—now's the perfect time. It's free and super simple. Even if you're not a member of Xbox Live yet, you can reserve a gamertag right now.
