Microsoft: Xbox 360 Problems Are Isolated

isolated my azz, my system is freezing when i am browsing the options n i have to restart n also my clock keeps on changing, the console overheat too fast, to the point i put it by my window at -20 to enjoy the games...i hope it doesnt die or MS will feel, they did a sorry job here, they rushed all n now they have problems, their fone lines have wait of 3 hours n online tech chat is 225 min wait....way to go MS

You have a thing called Customer Support for that. Just call them, and they will pick it up and give you a better one. Stop Complaining and do something about it, you cannot expect things to fix themselfs.

Havent had any problems, besides, i took the protective clear masking of the hard drive (dont know why) and it left a layer of glue and it looked like Sh*t, It also happened on the eject button for the disk tray, spent an hour cleaning it off, otherwise i love xbox 360!!!

I heard part of the problems with 360 are due to the power source overheating. Someone suggested suspending the power source over an empty box so the power source has good ventilation all around. I saw online where someone was selling a cooling unit for the power source.

what ever the problem, M$, had better resolve this issue with a viable solution, I won't be paying $500 for a new x360 console (plus games) if I have to see a power supply sitting on top of an open box...

dude get a xbx360 its improved and better than all the other machines out there bro get the 360 and it has amazing graphics also not all the xbx360's are crashed and messed up as all machines that are reborn like 1st xbox and ps2 and ps1 they all are messed up the first 100 out of 5000 are destroyed or defected so dont worry about that they have gaurrentes and stuff peace i hope i helped.... latz

guys i live in the bahamas. it took me a hell long of a time to get the 360, im glad to say its a good system i just bought it for $700 plus 2 games and trust me games aint cheap here. the 360 plays well i mean very well so far. only 1 problem i have is that it over-heats alot, other than that its cool. i havent experience any problems and dont intend to. get the 360 stop crying over the problems that yall have been experience its a good system.

I think that every one needed to calm down and look at some facts.

I am an electrical engineer and an also about to become Microsoft certified. I do not like Microsoft very much and am much more of a linux/unix person, but I HATE people being so arrogant as to sue a company, because the product did not work right. It is Microsoft’s problem if they do not make it right, there the ones that loose money.

Now something about the hardware.

Look at your computer feel how much heat is produced. Most of you have one, or maybe a few have two processors most of you do not have any thing close to 3Ghz processor, unless your comp is less than 2 years old. As speed increases so does heat. All of that heat you feel is coming from the processor in your computer. Now if you have a P4 multiply that heat by 4 if you have something older multiply by 6 or 7. Now look at the top of the line video cards they have there vary own fan, and produces a large amount of heat. You are now getting a sense for what Microsoft and the other next generation console manufacturers have to deal with. They are able to take all that heat and place it in a space a quarter of your computer case. Just the fact that it is able to operate with out becoming red-hot is a major achievement.

You also need to give them some room they are experimenting with a completely new processor for them. All of windows software is designed for the x86 Intel architecture they are now using a moving for there game console to the possessor that enterprise servers and Macintoshes use the PowerPC this uses a completely different architecture and instruction set, so they have little tested software to work from.

Lets consider support, In my experiences as a network admin, I have found that about 1 in 30 computers that you buy has a problem, you then have to ship it back and who knows when you will get a working one. Now from what I have heard Microsoft is handling there support superbly, overnight shipping both ways, that is amazing. I hope all of you can live with out your new console for at least a week, if not you need to get a real life. If you don’t want this console and are mad because you have to get it fixed, consider this you might have to wait a week to play the Xbox 360, but you will have to wait about a year from what I have heard to play a PS3.

Conclusion
These new consoles are pushing technology like race cars. This is all new and one knows what will happen when it is shipped. Remember a public release is the best testing of a product known to man. Like any testing there is sure to be problems. Please be patient not only to Microsoft, but to all of the companies that make things in the word, from genetically grown grass to supercomputers.

Well I have had the an xbox 360 since march of 2006, since then each one has broken down with the three lights problem. 3 in all. Friends of mine have had similiar issues. I belive the company line is vague on purpose, and that "small fraction" is probably in the area of 15-25 percent. I would at this point like to just get my money back.

The shipping is being handled by 3-day select. As far as having patience with Microsoft, I’d normally take these things with a grain of salt. However they released a high heat system into production that was obviously not air cooled to the extent it needed to be. On top of that I have done a ton of research and found that the main problem with the system is improperly applied thermal paste to the cpu. Spotty manufacturing in other words.

Just bought xbo360, played for 3 days, crashed. Replaced and play for 2 days, crashed. Read complaints and class action suit against microsoft.
Tomorrow going to make a complaint .
Done.
