Eternal Sonata follows the adventures of famed composer Eminem, hang on, thats not quite true. It's actually about Frederic Chopin as he travels through his own dream world filled with colorful characters and stunning locales. You know who Chopin is right? My iPhone has playlist after playlist dedicted to him....
In a land where music influences both combat and exploration, Chopin sets out on a journey not only of self-discovery, but also one of redemption.
Utilizing a combat system that rewards players for careful battle coordination, Chopin and his allies can unleash devastating combo attacks for even more damage while on the battlefield. To add even more depth, combat is also influenced by the powers of light and darkness. Depending on whether enemies or heroes are in the light or darkness, their attacks, abilities, and even physical forms might undergo massive changes, adding a whole new dimension of variety to every encounter. Will Chopin learn the secrets of the mysterious world he finds himself in? Will the powers of evil forever cast a shadow of darkness over the land? The curtain is about to rise on a symphony of epic scope and scale… and the answers to those questions lie between the notes of dreams and reality.
Eternal Sonata features a battle system centered around musical elements and character-unique special attacks. Light and darkness plays a part in the appearance and abilities of enemies on the battlefield, as well as the types of magic that can be cast.
The game features a selection of Chopin's compositions played by pianist Stanislav Bunin, though most of the in-game music was composed by Motoi Sakuraba. The game was released on June 14, 2007 in Japan under the title Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream. It was released on September 17, 2007 in North America.

Game is amazing, art/graphics and audio are fantastic, like reviews have made issue to is linear but I've played linear RPGs for years so its not a bad thing for me, gameplay is fun and simple, I never went into this game expecting the depth of a game like Oblivion, the story and characters are what I'm after and so far I like what I've seen. Game is certainly eye and ear candy and people who enjoyed Blue Dragon will certainly get a lot out of Eternal Sonata.
