I don't think I've ever got excited about a news report in YEARS (since the anouncement of shenmue 2).

I agree Sega should give the Xbox fans what they want another Shenmue title...that would put Sega on top for sure cause everyone loves Shenmue from first kick to last punch with Ryu Hazuki....this would be a great title (Shenmue III) for Xbox 360, and would sell millions not as much as Halo 2 but just under probably. If I was Sega this would be the time to release Shenmue III if they're making another Shenmue because with the next gen consoles everyone will want true to life games and this is one of such that people want to play! So i'm telling you people now sign a petition showing that you care and want another Shenmue or write letters to Yu Suzuki requesting for the next installment of his beautiful and fully interactive game. Trust me if there are enough people who want the game, they'll make the game. That's how Shenmue Online came about, so get to writing them letters or signing them petitions, and while i'm at it Xbox365 staff...you guys should try to help us shenmue fans out and get some exclusive info and see if you can't get an interview with Yu to insite us.

Oh yeah if you do get a chance to do an interview with Yu see if he won't support a raffle like contest where the original format Shenmue (aka Sega Saturn) can be a prize so that us fans can have a piece of glorifying history.

Actually, the original came out on the dreamcast. And also, shenmue 2 sold very poorly for the xbox, so I doubt sega is rushing to get the third one out.

Actually you're wrong. Shenmue was originally intended to be a Saturn game.

Yu Suzuki has always expressed a desire to continue the Shenmue series past the sequel, and told EGM once that the story had been completed; the question was when they would decide to design and release the game is the mystery. The title has not been officially abandoned and nor is it SHENMUE ONLINE but it has been officially confirmed by several developer staff. Until Sega rebutts this themselves it's safe to presume SHENMUE 3 is still coming out.

shenmue1+2.simply the best games ever.ive bought nearly every xbox best titles`halo2,ninja gaiden,fable.none of these beat shenmue.i bought shenmue 2 the first day it came out and am still playing it now a 5th time over.character animation in shenmue is absolutlly incredible.this is no cheap game where you use potions etc ...to refill your life its just simply real life.its like watching a martial arts movie and you play it.it has the best talking and music ive ever played in a game.okay the talking in fable is good but not as good as this.i am absolutly addicted to playing video games and if and when shenmue 3 came out i would literaly trade in all my xbox games 'halo 2 ,ninja gaiden, doom3, jade empire,just for this game.
