You have to admit it, back in the days, when you were 8 years old, there was nothing better than a storming game of Cowboys & Indians, or Cops n Robbers... Hell, plenty of people still enjoy those games, except they have names like Paintball, Lasertag and Counter Strike!
Originally a mod for Valves first person shooter, Half Life, Counter Strike took the online gaming world by storm. If ever there was a title that had the words "Xbox Live" engrained into its code, Half Life is it. To be succesful in Counter Strike, players MUST use team-wrok and communication, that means Xbox Live with microphones - don't be shy guys, keep talking when you play, and the wins will add up.
Having cranked up CS, any gamer worth his/her salt will be immediately familiar with the routine - get tooled up and get busy shooting those bad dudes.
 
 
Counter Strike players get to choose from a vast array of weapons including:
SMGs. Feel the need to get busy and spray the bad-dudes with some lead? Arnie would be proud of the SMGs available to Counter Strike players.
ES C90 - Cost $2,350
Average accuracy, high rate of fire. 50-round clip.
K&M UMP45 - Cost $1,700
Slow rate of fire, small clip - 25-rounds.
K&M SMG - Cost $1,500
Accurate, quick reload time, medium clip - 30 rounds.
Schmidt MP - Cost $1,250
High rate of fire, silencer, medium clip - 30 rounds.
Rifles. Every team needs a couple of riflemen. With good accuracy, a nice clip size and good firepower, rifles are the best all-round weapon to use.
Magnum -Cost $4,750
THE Sniper rifle! 10 rounds.
Schmidt - Cost $2,750
Good Sniper rifle, low cost. 10 rounds.
5.56 - Cost $2,250
Only for Counter-Terrorists, burst fire option. 25 rounds.
Bullpup - Cost $3,500
Another Sniper rifle, 30 rounds makes for a nice all-round rifle.
Krieg 550 - Cost $4,200
Only 20 rounds, zoomable but inaccurate.
M4A1 - Cost $3,100
Silencer option, 30 rounds - A great all round heavy gun.
CV-47 - Cost $2,500
Modified AK47, 30 rounds and a mean punch.
D3/AV-1 - Cost $5,000
Semi-Auto Sniper rifle, lightweight. 30 rounds.
Defender - Cost $2,000
Cheap, 35 round capacity is good. Inaccurate if you spray
Krieg 552 - Cost $3,500
30 Rounds and zoomable, a tasty rifle.
 
Heavy. Heavy weapons are great for close combat. Pull up close to the enemy and pull the trigger - watch them explode, literally, all over the screen. BTW, blood is included.
12-Gauge - Cost $1,700
Great for close combat, mean punch but slow. 8 rounds.
Auto Shotgun - Cost $3,000
Incredible power and speed, amazing for close combat. 7 rounds.
ES M249 - Cost $5,750
100 Rounds and automatic fire. Ideal for ground support.
Ballistic Shield - Cost $2,200
Good for defense, however, players can only use the ES Pistol as a weapon with the shield.
Flashbang Grenade - Cost $200
Used to temporarily blind and deafen the enemy.
High-Explosive Grenade - Cost $300
BOOM! Get plenty of distance when you set this bad-boy off.
Smoke Grenade - Cost $300
Cool grenade to use when running through open locations.
Kevlar Vest / Helmet - Cost $300
Always buy the vest and helmet - when money allows!
Depending upon the mission and the location, you should choose the best weapons available. Where possible, you should always choose the Kevlar Vest and Helmet - they add a couple of extra health points to you, and allow you to survive for a little longer in the heat of battle. Smoke grenades are always useful, however, they work just as well for the bad-dudes.

If you've ever played Counter Strike, you'll see the graphics are faithful to the original. Nothing we haven't seen on Xbox before, but still has the right amount of detail.

Cool sound effects and nice voice overs for the team commands. Of course, the only sounds you need to hear are the bullets and the Xbox Live commands from your team-mates as they scream "I'm hit, god-damn it, I'm Hit! Son of a #$!@*"

Awesome gameplay. Fast, yet smooth. With 15-mins of practice, you'll soon be running through doors guns blazing, or if you'r clever, sneaking through the windows with knife in hand.

Counter Strike is the shooter game to have if you have Xbox Live. If you were frustrated with Unreal Championship - and the amount of times you could die in a 20 second period, don't worry, Counter Strike is not the type of game where a bunch of 12 year olds can just keep their finger on the trigger. Counter Strike is all about team tactics. Without tactics, you ain't got a chance son.

The graphics don´t look that bad! Whats everyones problem? In comparison to R6 they suck, they are medicore graphics but not bad. Looks a little like Socom graphics to me, which is a good thing, specially if it as Socom gameplay.

Well i play CS online in a server called Donkey´s Horeshoe ...dont ask why , my cal-cpl clan server got messed so we just disbanned it..and im out of town and i got an ileagal hacked up xbox worth a lot..and i decided to hack cs on to it..for xbox! and it isnt that bad...1.6´s guns..along with the best 1.5/1.6 maps..still have the old 1.5 guns too very nice the graphics arent bad, but if any of you wanna play cs on the comp...IM me at AIM: Swoopfly

I recently tried Counter Strike for Xbox and honestly i am not impressed. I have yet to try it online, but the @!*% player game i dont like, i don´t find it was nicley done, I would reccomend Rainbow6 3, conflict desert storm2 or socom 2. I was disappointed because of the hype of the game was (in my opinion) unjustified. Personally stick with rainbow6 or socom or cds2.

If not, prepare to be roasted because there is no team unity. $50.00 for a crappy offline game with decent online aspect is not worth it to me. Better off with Ghost Recon, GRIT, Rainbow 6:3, or RTCW.

Alright people..How boring can a game get with just 2 differnt thing you can do on it (rescue hosteges or plant bombs)for the @!*% 10 minints i was playing it i injoyed it because i payed so much for it and i try to make my self like it but let get real.AND $50 BUCKS!!!!!The people who made this game,well you get my point.but i gess what im trying to say is DONT BUY IT. This is a brilliant game and I would recommend it to anyone. The teamwork part of the game is needed, and makes it even more enjoyable. The only thing that ruins this game and other on-line games, is that there are 2 many people on-line that think it´s funny to be rude to other gamers. If you can´t play nicely, then f##k off!!!

now i just bought the game 2 days ago. it kinda sucks. only get it if your gonna play online. the graphics really do suck. when u start a round t´s or ct´s theres only 1 skin to choose from, from both. theres no campain so all u do is play single playher agaist bots. only get if u got high speed internet coonection for xbox live.

I have noticed there are many sites out there with "counter strike xbox cheats." I decided to take a look at these because i own the game and it dosent really have anything on the online play. Anyway... my question is how do i get the cheats to work? They all say creat a game, (so i do), then pause it, (i do), then "tap" on the d pad to enter the codes. When i do this, nothing happens. What am i doin wrong, how can i use the cheats correctly?

Well the game is ok what makes me mad is the complete innacuracy or the guns the only guns that act like real guns are the M4 and Desert Eagle lol but for example when u take out the M4 your char pulls back the charging handle and hits the slide release lol and i think that if you reload without using all the ammo in a mag you should still have one in the chamber. Anyways i think all the cheats are a load of Sh*t prove me wrong by telling me how to put them in and have it actually work.

OK.......stop being a bunch of HOMOS!!!!!!!....the game is AWESOME@!!!!!!!...ok the graphics...its NOt an art gallery its a GAME.....I think the people that NEED SUPER REALISTIC GRAPHICS...OGHT TO GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT FOR REAL.....FRIGGIN GEEKS......THIS GAME WORKS GREAT ONLINE and is smooth as can be....the gun aiming is a bit of a bitch at times but it gets easy fairly quick....especially if you use COMMON SENSE and take a knee......its not bogged down with all the EXTRA UNNEEDED BULLSHIT such as maps and commands(IE GHOST RECON ETC)...its fun and you because of the simplicity I REALLY think the game is great for practicing real infantry tactics..sometimes REAL F^%@!# LIFE DOESNT HAVE TOO TECHNICAL OF A PLOT..OK DUDES...and GEEKS.....have fun ripping on thi s game....But this combat Marine gives it an 8 out of 10 on the GOOD GAME rating....oh ALSO if you want to bring a friend to play this.....it doesnt take aYEAR of GEEK GAME COLLEGE to learn controlling...and its all around SOLID....ok...DEVIL DOG OUT

I played Counter Strike on the pc since feburary of 2004. (Yeah i know im late) but then i saw the screenshots 4 the xbox i was like.
