The infamous Alien Vs. Predator is coming to Xbox, but before you get your hopes up for online, Xbox Live play, it's my duty to inform you that those clever, clever guys at EA are co-producing...
Out thinking, out maneuvering and over powering the enemy in a race to dominate the planet is what players can look forward to in Aliens versus. Predator: Extinction. The game, based on the blockbuster Aliens and Predator sci-fi film franchises from Twentieth Century Fox, is the first game of its kind for next generation consoles, giving players the ability to play as one of three species: Aliens, Predators or Colonial Marines.
Co-published by Fox Interactive and Electronic Arts for the PS2 (what did you expect - this is EA!!!) and the Xbox, Aliens versus Predator: Extinction is scheduled to ship in summer 2003.
Fans will appreciate the action and ferocious battles that are true to the movie franchises as they embark on a quest to annihilate their enemies in a fight for survival. The three fiercest species in the universe have been locked in a bloody conflict for years with no end in sight. After a small unit of Colonial Marines, dispatched to planet LV-742, reveals the presence of both Predators and Aliens, it is decided that the conflict must end once and for all with the ultimate goal of total universal supremacy.
In numerous missions, players will take to the all-terrain, futuristic battlefields such as mysterious jungles and treacherous caverns in an attempt to root out their enemies. With ten upgradeable combat units per species, players must lead their virtual army to victory in an all-out battle for the planet or face extinction
In this tactical strategy game, players will control the forces of one of the three species, planning their attack strategy, creating their own custom army, and choosing upgrades ranging from vision modes to weapon modifications. Each species offers a unique set of attributes forcing players to master a variety of tactics and play styles in order to be victorious. As Colonial Marines, players will rely on military training and the latest hi-tech weaponry from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation to save the human population of LV-742.
The Predators must use their stealth and highly evolved hunting techniques to gain the respect of the council of Ancients. Aliens will attack in hordes to kill their enemies, impregnate them with facehuggers which evolve into the ultimate weapons. A variety of units will be accessible to the player, from basic infantry to specialized warriors like the Alien Carrier able to carry facehuggers in groups, the Predator Hydra or the Marine Sniper.
Aliens versus Predator: Extinction is being developed by Zono, Inc., based in Costa Mesa, Calif., and will be co-published by EA and Fox Interactive.

Just hope the graphics are better then in the pics. but graphics aren´t everyhing, because Star Craft for computer didn´t have very good graphics but it was awesome.

i was hoping this would be an fps cuz now that i see this it looks and reminds me a lot about starcraft but without xbox live its gonna be kinda pointless because games like these are designed for multiplayer

Starcraft was good for the time it was made. Think back to how long ago Star Craft was made and think about what the average middle class computer could handle, which is what most PC games r made to be able to be run on.

See NOW, when are these developers going to learn.
They make a great game, with great gameplay, and then they f@ck everything up by forgetting to remove the EA-tags out of their games.Making the gameplay and graphics suck, wich is double the flaws in effect.

Lets see.. low poly count, limited animations, (at least 2 pairs of the characters are sharing identical poses),.. Its made by Activision(King of average CrossPlatform Ports)... its on the PS2... and We´re just hearing about it and its supposed to get released this year!?!? (where´s the development time??)
This title reeks of sheer exploitation. It´ll take more than a "Hype Machine" to push this game off on Ol´ Grampa. I´ll eat my walking stick if this cornball hack of a title rates more that a 6 out of 10 in the review section.

I know graphics ain´t everything... but, I´m sorry! In this day and age, if I can recreate one of the main character models used in a game, with my bare hands, out of an egg carton and Elmer´s glue... than the game is, quite simply, CRAP!!
Is that thing SUPPOSED to be the "alien"???? Friggin´ WEAK!!!
The only thing "alien" about this game is the action that I will continue to do to EA, in reference to myself... "alienate"!!
EA sucks. You know it. I know it. Wake up, take off that sheep´s clothing, and put your hard-earned money towards games, and their publishers/developers, that deserve it, for their hard work and respect towards gamers.

what the heck alien vs. predator 2 was better than this game and that was made by sierra how the heck is EA co-producing if sierra has an active working liscence(on alien vs. predator) and if this does make it through it´s going to go down the crapper.

Agent_CAB has a point legaly EA shouldn´t be able to touch the franchise because of sierra. Unless fox interactive said to hell with sierra and sold out to EA. Don´t get me wrong when it comes down to it, EA and consoles don´t mix, but they do make good on the pc end. Personally this game will be like many have said before "crap".

Electronic Arts was spectacular until they started calling themselves EA. The @!*% time I saw this was on the PS2; with EA [sport] LIVE series. From then on I understood they became a "dismal business machine". More concern over profit then product.
Feasting off a reputation that is becoming dimer and dimer. I suggest we stop buying EA games. Their only gifted at two things: 1)Producing so much hype it is hard to resist a game. 2)Pissing off XBOX owners!

I could not wait to get my xbox when it @!*% came out. This is horrible! When it @!*% came out it was a FPS. So why change a good thing. PS2 sucks all the life out of games. If it was required to make games that lived up to the power of the XBOx then the PS2 and Gamecube would go bye bye, and we could finally stop getting crappy ports and get the games that we all deserve! EA should be shot and disbanded for this. It looks like a game that you could pickup at Half-Price books for 2 bucks. one good game EQ came out with is command and conquer generals and command and conquer generals zero hour. ill Admit that ea games has come out with so many crapy games but C and C is one of the best yet. over 10 million people play C and C online including me. EA games made the misstake of releasing the harry potter games to the sucked.
