DON´T CHEAT...you won´t enjoy the game as much...i finished it without cheating (and i own a gameshark for every system, except the xbox)...it took a week but i did it and now i get to brag about it to all my friends...one thing though...in the last level, "The Maw" there are health packs everywhere...just look out for sentinels and the the final level in "The Maw" is gonna blow your mind...sweet...

i beat halo with no cheats in about 4 days it´s still the best game.
I think they might come out with part 2 of halo, if u watch the ending movie of halo after you beat it you will se what i mean

Nikkonfuzion: I thelast level, when you have to drive the warthog like 1.5k in 5 minutes to where the ship is supposed to pick you up, but the ship crashes, do you jump on the ship when it is going down, or are you not supposd to stop and just keep driving, becase with the time i have left when i get there, isn´t enough for me to go the other 1.5 k

No, you are not supposed to jump on the ship. She tells you to stop, but since you already know that your gunna have to keep going, you can save some big time by just passing by that spot.

I don´t know about you all, but the assualt on halo´s control room and the maw are one of the biggest nail bitting levels ever created. And don´t even get me started on that 345 level in the swamp. The flood actually scare me. It has been worth the wait!!! And there will be Halo 2,

I beat Halo on Heroic in two days it wasn´t that hard. And you guys are bragging "Hey dudes i beat the game in like a month". That´s sad ya know. What other games do you guys have? I got project gotham racing and i thought it blew the first minute i played it.

it took me a couple weeks to beat halo. i would say about a good 10-15 hours of actual play. one of the best most involving games ive played since Shenmue. I thought i was difficult and that was with two player co-op mode that i beat it in.
Halo is such a good game that im playing it all over in one player mode on the hardest difficulty rating. the AI is unbeleivably smart!

How do you get off the ship in Halo? I think I just got lucky the first time.

I´m getting xbox for x-mas and the game halo! Plz have some codes here before 2002, because i want to have fun!

Can anyone tell me how to extend the bridge down in the cave? it´s really dark down there and i can´t find the switch... i´m stuck!

To extend the bridge you have to kill all of the enemy Aliens and walk to wards the right wall. Somewhere in the middle you will find a ramp. Climb it and you will find the controls.

For all the people who beat Halo in 4 days or less try beating it on Legendary. This game is hard and unless your a loser with no friends and plays games all day you havent beaten it. I don´t play Halo as much as I used to, I play Amped, PGR, and Fuzion Frenzy a lot now with my brothers ... I am actually thinking of getting Cel Damage, i played it for a bit before and it seems alright.

You guys probably beat the game in 2 3 or 4 days on easy try playing it on legendary you guys probably wont even make it past the second level

the thing that makes halo so damn good is that you can beat it on the harder difficulties... you just gotta play like a cive!! hahah.. the checkpoints are the best thing in a shooter ever.. you get stuck.. you gotta out smart the enemy.. the levels aren´t mazes... its awesome.

It only took me 7 months, 12 days, 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds to beat Halo at easiest difficulty. I think anyone who says they beat it in less time is full of lies.

I´ve heard (but have not tried it) that if you beat the last level of Halo on Legendary you get a longer ending.

A hint to the wise when facing the Elite the best weapon is the Needler against them. Shoot a whole clip at them and they will blow up. Also another good way to kill elites is to just stick a plasma grenade on them.

Hey, does anybody know when Ghost Recon for Xbox is coming out? It is supposed to be hella sick just like Halo. And also when playing the library on legendary, expect it to take a few hours not just cause it is fuckin hard, but that there are so many flood. And that every time you kill one of their little attacks they come at you with almost double the next time. Just use a lot of grenades and the shotgun on the bigger flood dudes, and the assualt rifle on those little pieces of shit things that just jump on u.

I work at a unnamed computer retailer and they happen to have a X-Box display up ... and I was the lucky one who got to open a copy of Halo and put it in the unit. Not only did I almost get fired (from playing it) I took my lunch break and ate 1´s and 0´s ! I said to myself, "Self... this game rocks!" so in between handing out X-Boxes and showing every cusomer how cool this game was, I fell in love. At 5pm I clocked out, put on my leather jacket, and played ... played to my little heart´s content. With slight interruptions (from fellow employees and annoying little kids "whatcha playin" ... *shiver*) I played til 8pm with out even knowing it. I finally had to stop when my girlfriend calls me on my cell phone and asks me where I am .... sheepishly responding "playing the new X-Box game Halo hunniee" then she sharply said " you ARE getting me that X-Box for christmas aren´t you?!" *sigh* we can´t all win. Well it is on my Christmas list for this year but i don´t think that "Santa" or his paycheck can quite afford it yet. and yes, I am an American .... but Canada rocks!

The King has got some problems. I would say that the King is about...12-14 years old. His writing and argument style shows his age. I love this game! I especially love the multi-player with the 4x4´s! If you crash into each-other you can do GREAT and HILARIOUS stunts( 360 Barol Roal, Front-flip, back-flip, and of course the 900!!)

What part do you need help on?

That last level...
is it just my xbox, or is that level so choppy that it´s near impossible to drive well?
the last level just needs practice to finish.
but you´ll know where to turn and when to go straight.
but avoid going around pillars.
some of those hallway scenes have shortcuts... but you can get stuck in there.
and don´t stop when they tell you to stop... just keep going.
i think it the level wasn´t so choppy, it´d be easier to finish.

don´t you guys think that the warthog is just to light? i mean it doesn´t stick to the ground. i hate that.

don´t forget about melee attacks... they are strangely more powerful than the ranged attack on the aliens. you can even kill a hunter with a well timed hit to the head with a pistol.

I figured out a few little hidden tricks.

On the very first level, where you first encounter Captain Keyes, He will give you a pistol. Go a little further until you reach some ammunition, go back, and shoot Keyes in the head. This should summon a whole shite load of Marines, to kill you. I haven´t been able to kill any Marines, I think they have infinite life. *shrug*

On the last level, the Maw, when you are on the ending stretch of the level, and the time clock is ticking in the bottom right of your screen, wait for the time clock to go down to the end. You will see a small cinematic of the ship exploding. Very cool.

Beat the game on Legendary Mode to get a longer ending. :)

thanks king, with ghost u can flip over stuff to not get hit i like doing stunts,
i think the best gun is the pistol if it had a larger magazine and it shot quicker then it would, but that is my opionion.

I need some help. I think I´m a lot older than the rest of you, but I did win "coolest wife of the year award" for getting my husband an Xbox for Christmas. He´s now at work and I´ve been playing Halo-(ok so the gift was really for me). The last video game system I played before this was the first Atari in the early 80s and I´m really stuck at getting off the ship. All the guys are dead, but I have no clue how to get off the ship. king i am on halo where u come out of the escape caspule and their is a hole bunch of stuff i can get past the fisrt dropship and the banshees then the 2 elites and about 7 grunts[man the elites are hard],then u go up the hill and their is 4 grunts and a elite after u kill them u see another dropship then marines fighting how can u kill the people their is tomany dropships like 1 or2 shoots and u are dead plus they like to doge the greanades, 1 time i made it to the end, they just are to hard can u tell me how to get past the first part please?,thanks.

Erika412, I´m in the same boat you are except I´m 36 and I´m stuck on the ship, so don´t feel bad.

Hey saber-man on the level your stuck on (second one right?) with all the dropships at the beacon and all of those guys: go back to the way you came. Head back in the direction towards where you started the level and you will get to a spot where you can´t jump up the clif because it is to high, turn completely around facing the beacon and there is a huge rock that you can either hide behind or climb on. From here you can easily use the needler tactic agaist the elites. It seems that for some reason they do not go by a certain point, they always stay about 20 feet in front of the beacon. Once you kill one wave, go to where they have fallen and reload on needler ammo and plasma pistols and grenades. You will only have a little time to do this because another dropship will be coming in unloading guys. Used the needler on elites, but use the plasma pistol on the grunts and other little guys. I have found this to work on legendary.

Halo ownz. THERE is no flame thrower! the lift DOES have a console, its right on the left! You have to look around for everything, consoles, objectives, exits etc. personally i think the level where u venture deep into the alien place on that beach level took way to fucking long. and dont forget that level with that stupid monitor, monster after monster..#$^#@

HI, I was wondering if someone could give me some help. I am stuck right after the flood. I already killed off all the little critters that flood and the big guys that are just annoying. I dont know how to get out of here though. Please help. I got X-Box last night and have been playing Halo for at least 12 hours straight. I was doing great until now. I´ve been stuck for a while. Right after the flood, I can´t seem to find any doors that go anywhere. Do I use one of the wholes where the flood came from? I appreaciate any help given. Thanks.

Halo Rules

Wow there is alot of people that need help. First ill start with the wife who is married to a canadian and that other persons problem. Don´t worry no one will insult you now you need to find an escape pod with red arrows or just follow the nav point which is the red arrow that points you into the right direction. It should go into a cutscene when you pull a soldiers onto the ship with you if you two both give me more specific details of where you´re at I can be of more assistance. UK boy now there is two snow levels are you on the second with the flood or the first one with the covenant because if you are on the first on you dont need to do anything with smoking glass cylinders. Sabreman I see that Haloruler helped you out but something else that would help you is a pistol and grenades. If you get those stay far enough back so that they cant see you and so that its close enough so that you can snipe off grunts when you zoom the pistol and throw grenades. Mateo go back through the door where you came from if your talking about the room where you first meet the flood. Deathtoll my game never goes slow but does it happen alot through out the game. I hpe I helped you guys out I just bought silent hill2 so im taking a break from Halo and getting scared out of my wits. But ill still be back to answer more questions.

i beat the game on easy in 10 hours of play(2 days) in cooperative with my brother a week ago. now i´ve started to play it in single player on legendary and i´m having a hard time getting past level alone(pathetic, i know)any hints for taking out the guys in the hall after the big room with the stairs in the middle?

1 more thing the flood was so annoying that i damn near broke my controller my fists were clenched so tight but it was worth it to see the ending

That first level where the stairs are..
don´t walk in all the way...
let the marines fight but they will just die...
just stay back and use the pistol and zoom... kill all the grunts you can from a distance... crouch and shoot.
the elites are dumb in that they have a set running pattern...
try throwing a grenade and fall back into the doorway..
after the grenade blows... shoot the elites with either a pistol or plasma rifle...
assault gun sucks...
7-8 shots of pistols will kill the elite..
i think there are 3 elites up top... 3 grunts...
remember to shoot the grunts in the head for a one shot kill... right in the head...

if you are playing with someone else... both aim for the same elite...easy kill.
whenever you get shot at pull back and recharge your shield.

it took me about... 10-20 minutes to clear that zone...

The pistol is a very underrated weapon... it´s much better than the assault rifle... just because of the zoom and controlled shooting...
it´s slow but i find that most enemies freeze for a second after you shoot them... if you can keep shooting at them... you can get a good 4-5 shots before they move... and by then you should be able to track and shoot them while they are moving...
plasma rifle and other weapons take long to reach the enemy... but human weapons (not rocket) takes no time to reach the enemy

throw away that pistol until you reach the flood...
don´t use plasma on the flood...
shotgun shells are rare so save them for the floor big guys...
like someone said, let those little face huggers hit you... unless there´s a horde of them... then use the assault rifle to shoot at one of them... burst them all like that.

also... in cooperative mode...
i know this is a cheap tactic... but if you really are stuck because the enemies are too strong...
go kamikaze... the person who dies respawns with default weapons... don´t pick up your weapons and goes crazy... run up to everything with guns blazing... eventually you´ll just kill them all..
it´s fun too just running crazy shooting everything in sight...

whenever you have the jeep... use the gun... but one person should stay off the jeep picking off anyone nearby...

if your stuck on a level get a stratagy guide there only like $15 plus tax, you get an extra part when you beet it on legendary its funny, a hint for the maw on legendary always let the flood and covenent battle each other i have seen the little flood things kill hunters but it takes time. im going to try to beet halo on all difficultys now it helps if you have a freind play toogood luck on the game to every one.

i saw the leandry end for halo its halarios that elite towers over the marine, i also found the grunt i can´t really tell what he says but at the end of waht he says it sounds like he had a crunchy thirst,but it halarios any how and how i beat the game on legendary mode is when u unlock all the leval just pick 1 and the setting like easy to legandary if u are wandering about the piece of info, if i really tried it the real way i couldn´t make it past the 2 leval on legendary, but for now, peace!

King, hey I know what ya mean about Homework man. But anyway here´s a piece of advice for The Maw. Remember to take it slow! I tried to take it way too fast and kept getting myself killed over and over again.Also, the Covenant and the Flood will battle it out for a while so just sit back and pick off a couple of them if you want. Make sure you stock up on grenades or keep a rocket launcher ready at all times. At the end, when you have to race the warthog for what seems like an eternity, you will get to a point where Cortana will tell you stop and what for Fohammer. T kill enemys easily shoot them in the head. The guns with sniper vision are The sniper rifle, pistol, androcket laucher. The scorpion tank has a machine gun on it. If you beat the maw in legendary mode you will het a different ending then in the otherdifficiulty levels.

Yeah I beat Halo on Legendary and the maw was a piece of cake. The Pillar of Autmn I think was harder. But anyways I beat it and I only needed to play the jeep mode twice to beat it on the maw. The ending was funny. The ending has the is the same on legendary as it is on the others but with one added part. I dont think that it is worth it to see the ending, but it gave me something to do. OUt

i was having trouble beat a part in halo so i just ran for a checkpoint and got it, and now i am surrounded by a hunter and those little shits. does anyone have any idea how do get through this mess. i get killed every time and it is pissing me off. I love this game.( when i am not stuck)

You get the tank and the ghost by going to mulitplayer, then that config for games, click slayer, the items, under vehicle select "all"

In Halo I found out how to quickly run through the covenent first take out your plasma pistol and run through them.Then once they are close to you use a melee attack to penetrate their shield. I have mastered Halo And this works for me. I can beat the last level on legendary in under 25 minutes. With my brother i can beat it in 15. Note i am good.

Hey, leave these guys alone, THey´ll get better, and don´t tell me you beat it in 4 hours your first time. Some of you need to remember the first time you played, quit complaining about how better you are than the new guys. In those guides it says slow usually wins. OK, Spiros, I beat The Maw on legendary, by myself, in 23 minutes and 34 seconds, using a shotgun and Plasma Rifle, and yes, I kept track of the time with my black and gray stop watch and had a witness make sure that I didn´t cheat. And From the Sounds of it I could take on any one here with ease in some of the more "disadvantaged" Multiplayer arenas. Sa´ yeah, "all talk and easy kills makes a master dull".

Has anyone beat the game on easy in under 3 hours. I´ve heard that it unlocks a new weapon.

I have Xbox now and i have Halo, i beat it up in about 20 hours at the easy setting and now i have started the game in normal, is there any GOOD reason to play Halo on normal, e.g. do i get some bonuses, i only get the Normal -setting logo on the bottom of the level, thats that???

diablo, it only makes it harder on normal, but if you pass the very last level (the maw) then at the end video will be different, and its worth it.

There is know way that Halo can be completed in less than 4 hour. Even if you ran through the game without killing anyone, skipped all the cut sequences, and knew exactly where to go, it would take you 4hrs 8mins and 43secs.

There has been much speculation surrounding extra weapons and cheats and things of that nature. Bungie has repeatedly announced that there are NO cheats in the game. The flamethrower screenshot was taken from a pre-release version of the game and did not make it in to the final. Anyone who says there are cheats in the game is full of lies!!

I played halo and i really enjoyed everything. The graphics and the enemies are awesome. I dont know about you but I love the marines, try going to the AotCr level on easy and when you get to the point with like twelve marines kill two and the will go all evil and try to kill you. GREAT FUN!

I think Halo is one of the best games yet....i beat the game 6 times in heroic.but nomatter what i do i can never beat the game in legendary.but in multiplayer why cant we have banchees.thats the only error that i found.

In the book Halo by Eric Nylund, a civilian named Dr.Halsey attempts to create super soldiers for the UNSC. The UNSC is short for the United Nations army, or USNC (United States National Controllers). Civilians are just scientists or other people that work in the UNSC but do not fight for the army. She calls the project MJOLNIR and the people in this experiment are known as SPARTANS. SPARTANS are “super soldiers,” or at least said to be.
While Halsey scouts with Lieutenant Keyes, a UNSC soldier, she comes along a particular boy who is part of the project. His name is John, and he is also number 117 in the army. Keyes and the doctor find him at the top of a hill playing with four other kids. John and the others are playing “King of the Hill.” John is at the top the whole time even when three kids team up on him. Dr. Halsey asks to have a minute with him to perform a quick test. John excuses himself from the game and sits down on the grass. Halsey takes out an American coin and tells him if he guesses the side that it lands on he can keep it. After she flips the coin he shouts out “Heads!” and it lands on heads. She has a strange feeling that he is going to become a great soldier.
Over time Dr. Halsey scouts out hundreds of children for project MJOLNIR. After two months the selected kids are gathered at the most powerful UNSC planet base, REACH. They are told that they cannot go home and see their families. They are to become SPARTANS.
The next day, John and the others awake at 3:00 a.m. to work out. First they stretch by doing one hundred sit-ups, scrunches, and other things. If they can’t get through the exercises, they have to run around the entire compound four times and repeat the exercises. All of them manage to get the stretching done. After that, they run twice around the compound which exhausts them. When they get done with their running, everyone is treated with a couple crackers and water while they learn the history of war from an A.I. (Artificial Inelligiance) in a class room. For about ten years, they practice this everyday and go on practice missions to prepare for anything.
In the next part of the experiment, they have to take a special dosage of chemicals and the ones that survive became SPARTANS. Only sixty-three out of hundreds of kids survive.
Over the years John learns how to work with his squad and maneuver to avoid targets.
Then one day while a UNSC carrier is on patrol it discovers an alien ship. The UNSC attempts to make contact, but the alien cruiser attacks the carrier. While the alien cruiser destroys the ship, it sends a transmission to an army satellite. The message is soon translated by an A.I. The A.I. believes that the aliens call themselves the Covenant and are on a quest searching for a war. The UNSC loses many space battles over time but the SPARTANS almost always win the ground battles. It turns into a bad position for the human race. Dr. Halsey thinks that the Covenant wants to eliminate the human race and control the galaxy. To find out who will win the war you will have to read Halo: The Fall of REACH.

Hey, I got an x box for christmas this year and with it I got Halo along with a few others. I cant stop playing it! I think that the only true way to play halo is in co-operative, on heroic mode. Anyways the one guy who posted the note that said it took him around 7 months to beat halo!
All I have to say is "Hey crack head the game wasnt even out for seven months when you posted your note dumbass!!" And If it really took you 7 months then you dont deserve to play halo,... and for that matter you shouldnt even own an x box.

I, the code master have found what you´ve all been bitching about. the code to get the flame thrower.and it´s hard.You might want to get a pen. here go´s. start at the level
the maw(don´t worry you have it in co-op player too)push pause hold left trigger,right triger.left,up,left,right,right on the d-pad,white,white,black,left,push in left joy stick,and hold (Y)and black.now you must let go at the exact same time or cheat won´t be activated. if you activated it when you return to your game you´ll hear a noise like a door bell. well good luck, it took me like 75 trys before i got it.

i need help finding codes for halo cause i have beat it so many time that i want to try something different. so king can you help or anyone else that can.

I have read over most of the posts here....Anybody out there that really loves halo is awesome, but if u dissed halo in any way then u need to go buy some childish game for the game cube. I beat the game in 3 days. Then i took a break and only played multi. When i came back to playing again i beat it in legondary in 2 days, half 1 day and half the other. i loved 007 for n64, and have never been beat, halo is the same way. i loved it from the start. i talked to some people at software etc. and they said next will come halo 1 1/2 which will be all multiplayer. then comes halo 2 and 3. all of which are being constructed right now. i agree with anybody out there that there is no need for cheats, but i think that it would be pretty cool if we did get some cheats like invinite ammo, god mode, all guns, and no clipping just to see what it was like. for u people that can´t beat halo on the hardest diff. get a second control and play co-op, put the second player in a corner where he can´t be hurt, which there is in any level, and then play 1st player until u die. then u will appear back with player #2 and u can pick up where u left off. also when u get down to the last 1 or 2 notches of health, throw a nade just to take out anybody u were having problems with. if anybody has any ?´s e-mail me at specialed_8@hotmail.com

You have to beat it in less than 3 hours, then it works. And legendary can be very hard, but if you do it right it can be easy. (I have never tried the Two Guns Cheat but that is how it works(Assuming it does))

I have beaten every level on every difficulty except for the truth and reconcilliation and keyes. I have tried numerous times on both single and coop however im unable to beat either of them on legendary. If anyone has hints please post them for me.

Halo is unbelievable!!! I beat it on every level except legendary. The AI is darn good. I can hardly wait until xbox goes online. If any of you have played Unreal Tournament online, then you know what I mean. Many sleepless nights, missed days of work, reduction in showers, etc. I look forward to kicking more butt besides that of my brother.........bwahaha!!!

misskilla, it´s easier on coop, but you need one person in the very, very back where no covenant can attack, so when the other dies, it can revive. It´s a slow but effective way to beat it on legendary...
