Amped Freestyle Snowboarding is Microsofts attempt to break into a genre already becoming full of sub-par and garbage games with only a few good games.
Amped does well in providing a good experience with it's career mode which mimics how a real life snowboarder must expand and improve his or her own career. In career mode you can follow various challenges which range from doing the mountain run to completing a sponsors challenge or defeating that mountains pro snowboarder in the pro challenge.
The multiplayer is not what you would expect, instead of playing a strong portion of the game you only play something that gives you the feeling that the developers at Microsoft only tossed it in as a last resort. It doesn't come loaded with different challenges and those that i have can get boring fast.
The game play mechanics are also sub par. The game feels slow, and you can mess up on any trick your doing way too easily. It requires too much precision and accuracy especially when landing after a spin. This really detracts from overall experience and makes you wonder if Amped was rushed little bit or if they only concentrated on its 150 music tracks (most of which are so-so and recommend you rip your own music in).
Bottom Line is if you can't wait for a fun fast paced game like SSX Tricky then get Amped, it'll hold you off until Tricky's release. If your patient then wait a little while for something more fun. Related News, Images & Links
