I agree with magnumlight6073, I own an XBOX, but I wouldn´t say that they are failing miserably, but they are failing. PS2 is in the 1st place rank, knowone cares if the XBOX is the most powerful system on the market. As you can see Madden 2002, sold more than FEVER did. Do the facts JEDI. I am definately on the BAN wagon this year. If FEA ever decides to go online for the XBOX (probably next year), I will consider going back to my roots. In the mean time, I am buying both FEVER and 2K this year and playing the shit out of them.

I just wanted to say that the XBox is in no way "failing" as someone put it. It´s a brand new console and already has an attach rate nearing 5 million. I don´t think the Xbox community can afford to boycott EA games, due to lack of quality games they already have. Fever was Blitz with 11 players. The lob pass will hang in the air forever and the defender still can´t knock it down. Yeah, Fever is a real Madden killer alright!

Well, I understand everyones complaining, and I agree that it is jacked to dumb down games for the Xbox, but like one person has pointed out, EA simply makes too make different games to ban them all. Sure, most of them do suck, but NHL2002 has been high on my playlist ever since it came out. Until EA has more competition than Midway games, EA is in. I hear Sega is releasing their version, but it better be a new title, and not a touched up Dreamcast port.

When it comes to the pro game, all of you Fever doubters need to learn how to play. The control factor is by far the best of any of the football games out there. I should know, I´ve tried each and every one available for the Xbox. Fever had a few drawbacks, but in terms of gameplay, it couldn´t be beat. Yes, lob passes were a bit too successful, but that has supposedly been fixed for this year. And in last years version, if you had an ounce of talent, you could have justed switched over to a safety, ran down the receiver, and either intercepted or knocked down the ball. Don´t rag on Microsoft´s first effort here because you didn´t have the skills to hang with the big boys.

If we truly want to get premium games on the Xbox, Bill needs to keep shelling out the cash. Not that Halo isn´t premium, but the whining for Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, etc. is a daily event for some people. The reason Xbox is a better system has to do with its superior product, but that product arose from Microsoft "acquiring" the best in the business. Watch Microsoft buy Sega and other developers, then watch EA get crushed in the market spread. Fever already outsold Madden, imagine what a 2K/Fever alliance could establish.

To LordRuby, actually that was the second version of Fever. Microsoft released it for the pc in 99. That version was a masterpiece. Not to mention hard as all heck. I will say that the running animation for the xbox version was top notch though. I love football and will play any game on any console. There´s always going to be some fake element in every game. If there wasn´t, people who rooted for teams like the Bengals and Cardinals would never buy the game because they would never reach the Superbowl.

And for those who say you won´t buy EA games, I think you´ll change your minds when Buffy comes out... if you don´t buy, it will be headed to the PS2 and Gamecube. There´s millions of those consoles!

F@&k the system and F@&k the man, and F@&k the media, I know everything is biased, so I´m going to buy the games I have the most fun with, and 9 out of 10 times it ain´t EA. I know a lot of people love the madden line, but to me, it´s just hyped up by all the media, I stoped trusting the bigger media companies long ago. Sometimes they do recommend good games, but a lot of the time it seems like they are paid to say good things. Madden is alright, but I´ve had much more fun playing fever, I haven´t tried Sega´s, but I´m sure it´s pretty good, I remember getting Joe Montana´s football for the Genesis, and it was the most fun I had with a football game in a long time, when it was new, and that was Sega´s brand. If Sega´s good enough to get Montana back then, I don´t think they´ve missed too much making their newer line. Ever since EA started playing favorites back when the PS1 came out, I haven´t been impressed with them one bit. I´m not trying to influence anyone, I´m just voicing my own opinion. F@&k anyone that tries to say that I am wrong, because I´m not, they´re wrong for judging me, no one has the right to judge me except God. I was looking at my stack of games for my ps2 and gcn the other day and i realized that there was only 1 from ea (moh frontline) out of about 13, then i looked at my stack of n64 games, and out of 20 only 1 was from ea( and it sucked ) and i even went through my psx games and dreamcast gamse and not a one was from ea... ea games really suck ass, i only have 2 (medal of honor rocks) ea, as big as it is, sucks ass totally. xbox aint missing shit. you people shouldnt be wasting time trying to get ea to make games, you need to spend time trying to get important companys to make games and not a shit company like **shutters** ea

I´m not much in to the MMORPG scene, but I´ll sure check it out with the opportunity to play as "a jawa, a droid, a jedi, the guy with four heads in the cantina band, or a weirdly erotic dancer." (Official Xbox Magazine, August 2002). And if that isn´t enough, we´ll also be getting our hands on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic RPG. Look it is because of XBox Live. Microsoft´s internet structure is to get all the profit off XBox Live because the only fee you get charged is for XBox Live. Why should EA waste their time and money giving online features to the XBox when Microsoft is keeping 100% of the profit from online gaming.

Blame Microsoft not EA for being greedy and messing with the 3rd parties. Oh yeah and why should XBox get a completly different version of Madden? PS2 and GC are getting the same games too so what makes XBox so special to deserve their own game that would cost EA more money while the XBox hasn´t even sold 30 million yet?

When you have Sega (not to mention Microsofts 1st/2nd party developers) for sports, who needs EA.

Fact #1: Madden Games stopped being fun after 94 on the Genesis.

Fact #2: EA sports is no longer "the only game in town". Everyone knows Sega makes the best hockey game, NFL Fever is the best football game, High Heat is the best Baseball game, and Sega once again makes the best Basketball game. Peroid. Don´t believe me? Walk into your local software stores and ask the clerks and the customers.

Fact #3: The X box is not failing. Read the data. The X box sales are up 131%, and they have sold more software in the past few months then any console ever has in the same time frame. Read the facts.

Fact #4: The X box is just now hitting it´s stride. The PS2 was weak for it´s first year, and didn´t hit it´s stride until last october. (MGS2, FFX, BG:DA, VF4)

Fact #5: Brute Force, Knights of the old republic, Enclave, a superior version of Timesplitters 2, DOA volleyball, and MGS2 Substance. I think the next 4-6 months will convert a LOT of people.

Fact #6: I have a gamecube, X box, and PS2. The PS2 has only two games I bother with now. BG:DA and Shadow Hearts. The gamecube only has smash brothers melee. The X-box is the future, it is the only real next-gen system. Thats just one old man´s opinion....

I honestly don´t care if anyone believes me or not. All I know is if you talk smack about the x box while im in my local EB or software ect, I´ll knock your teeth out...and yes, I have had to knock someone out in the mall parking lot for doing such a thing.

I´m pretty sure that a bunch of Xbox geeks boycotting one of the largest and most sucessful software developers in the industry is not going to work very well. Mostly the geeks will just be without any good EA games. Sure, the Xbox version might not have extra features, and not utilize the power of the Xbox, but a game is more than just pretty graphics. NHL 2003 will still be a great game (assuming that hell doesn´t freeze over), and I will still buy it. However, I will also buy NHL 2K3 as well, because I try not to blindly follow corporations (why I own an Xbox and not a PS2 or GC). The BEST way to get EA to make more and better Xbox games would be to BUY MORE EA GAMES! Seems like crap? If EA sees that the Xbox is selling more games than they expected, then OFCOURSE they will put more money into it, their shareholders would demand it.

i´ve been on an ea/ps2 ban since the dreamcast. i hate their lesser than product. remember when gameday came out for the ps1, ea had to delay madden because it was inferior. ea madden is STILL inferior to fever and 2k3. drop dead ea!!

i agree 100%. xbox is the most powerfull gaming system out on the market. so ea should be building the best for xbox and second rate games for ps2. they could save alot of money by doing this. heres how. ps2 systems can´t handle what xbox can jugle. so in other words all ea has to do is peice a game together for ps2 and sell it for like triple on the profit becuase they don´t need to add all the nice detail that we xbox gamers demand. then with that huge profit they got they could satisfy are wildest dreams. this would make xbox gamers happy and satisfy those sony guys. but if they don´t start doing that im going to boycott EA.

For example, Fifa 2002 World Cup on the Gamecube has a widescreen mode activiated from within the options screen during any game. The Xbox is missing this. It doesnt make any difference if you change the display settings in the Xbox option screen either, before you put the game in.

Sega Sports (Visual Concepts) has overtaken EA Sports as the best sports game developer. So, it doesn´t matter if EA Sports has their games on the XBox because NFL 2K3 will be better than Madden 2003, NCAA Football 2K3 will be better than NCAA Football 2003, NBA 2K3 will be better than NBA Live 2003, etc. I was a fan of EA Sports for a long time but they haven´t really done that much to improve their games over the last several years while Sega keeps getting better every year.

the same could be said about Sega. There is a company put to the ground by Sony and they say they are going to support the big X with all these kick ass titles. Yes there are some really great ones like CT3, Panzer Dragoon, TJ&E3. There are also some that are only on the PS2 like Gungrave, VF4, and others. In a statement, Sega had like 50+ titles for the PS2 and only 12 for the X. Where´s the love Sega? You say big words but go running to the house that kicked you out of the console market.

O.K., i think you people are taking this stuff way too seriously, i mean i own all 3 consoles, and the xbox versions of the games do look better than their Ps2 brethren. not by much, but they are noticibly cleaner around the edges. Just look at some of the EA games you are going to be recieving soon, buffy the vampire slayer, freedom: battle for liberty island, and the best version of medal of honour. those are big names to ignore. i do agree alot of ea´s games are focused on ps2, but thats because the ps2 has a larger installed base of users. once the xbox gains some street cred, just wait and see how fast ea will change lanes and start to REALLY use the hardware. and i think black and white: next gen is going in the right direction....

There was no bigger suppoter for Ps2 and EA than myself. After buying EA´s 2003 and only playing it for two days, I can support neither anymore. I´m not going to wait on Nintendo any longer as well. This week, I will be crossing over to the Xbox platform. I hope they will not disappoint me.

Geesh, I´ve never seen anything so pathetic as this "affirmative action" for the Xbox. Regardless of why Sony has a larger installed base, Sony does, so of course it only makes financial sense for EA to spend more on the PS2. The proposed boycott only will result in EA spending even less on Xbox games since there is even less of a financial reason to than before. If you want EA to spend the money on the games, Xbox players have to spend the money on EA games - not go and whine asking for affirmative action because the PS2 has been out longer and talk about the comparative technical specs of the consoles, which is all completely irrelevant.

If EA doesn´t want to make the extra bucks by taking their stuff online then MS should refuse to license their games to their products. I wouldn´t allow them to be used with Windows and/or the XBox. That way their affiliation is nil..I remember Origin (The Ultima games, Wing Commander, Privateer, etc.) and their attitude. I even remember EA when they made Skate or Die for the PC before Nintendo existed. They had some great moves including the acquistion of Origin. Now they´re full of greed and $$ fill their eye sockets. They´re definitely the loyal patron of Sony, but the funny part is that was it Sony that actually started their Sports games success? No, that would be the Genesis. Wow imagine that, now Sega is stepping up to the plate yet again (the 2k Sports series). It won´t be long before you see the 2k games taking the place of the EA games on the TV broadcasts as well. MS will undoubtedly dominate that market as well...Patience, good things come to those who wait...I´ll be more than patient and pleased to get great games while missing the high quality, but completely unentertaining EA crap. I could never go back to playing their games with as much enthusiasm and excitement. The heart and energy put into their games is cold and stagnite.
