Hold onto your seat -- Quantum Redshift," the futuristic racing game from Microsoft Game Studios that allows gamers to hit speeds of up to 650 mph, ships today. Quantum Redshift, developed by Curly Monsters and is available exclusively for Xbox
Set approximately 100 years in the future, the game features a new organized racing tournament of speed and daring on 16 detail-laden tracks from all over the world. Gamers will also have the opportunity to choose one of 16 unique character pilots (seven unlocked at the start) and compete in up to four-player split-screen against their friends. "Quantum Redshift" challenges players to display a rare combination of raw racing skill and savvy weapons strategy to achieve ultimate victory.
 
"Quantum Redshift" also features 16 musical tracks from Junkie XL, the DJ behind the number one smash hit re-mix of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" that burned up the British and American pop charts. Each musical track was written exclusively for "Quantum Redshift" after Junkie XL played the game and witnessed the extreme speeds and engaging characters.
"There's fast. Then there's faster. And then there's 'Quantum Redshift,'" explained AJ Redmer, racing studio manager for Microsoft Game Studios. "As you can see in 'Quantum Redshift,' we are constantly encouraging ourselves and our development partners like Curly Monsters to create racing games that continue to push the envelope graphically and challenge gamers to expand their racing IQ. Gamers might need to buckle up when playing this one!"
"Quantum Redshift" puts gamers in command of the most extreme racing machines ever developed that can travel in excess of 650 mph and come equipped with highly advanced offensive and defensive weapons systems, allowing characters to attack each other with everything from plasma bolts to tidal waves. As players progress throughout the game, they not only unlock new characters, but new intense speeds (five in all), providing a racing experience like no other. In addition, each character has a counterpart nemesis, whose only goal is revenge through taunting, tormenting and attempting to sabotage the pilot at every turn.

All I know is that the creators of this game were from the original "Wipeout" crew. And with this one being on XBox? Those 2 factors make this a MUST HAVE!!!
This game will rock... for those who like this style of racing. I, personally, love it.
And a much needed diversion from my Halo/Morrowind/Outlaw Golf stupor that I´m in. >8)

Quantum Redshift is awesome. The Wipeout games rocked and this one will follow in their footsteps. The graphics are still great, but can still be improved in my opinion. Quantum Redshift rocks the house!

everybody,do not trust any of the reviews in gamespot, they are sh*t, they almost give every xbox games a bad rating, and then when i go to the PS2 part, they give them all the credit,even for the lamest games,they are on the PS2 fun club.just like the electronic gaming magazine and the gamepro magazine.

true that jonathan,that´s what i was alluding to before my
computer farted on me,the gamespot review was actually fair
enough more or less in the body of the article,but knocked
off major points on scoring the game saying it wasn´t original
,gee no sh@t gamespot?,but according to the logic of the review,the new f-zero will not score high as it is not original-or really any damn game coming out...vib ribbon
on the ps1 should have garnered a high score...,dumbass

Crow t Robot screw Butthole Surfers play Quantum Redshift while listening to SLIPKNOT!!!!!! I do agree Jonathan gamespot can´t review anything critical f´n assholes. Most reviewers (idiots) trash Dead to Rights when it is really one hell of a game. It is one of the best games I own for XBOX. I cannot wait for MK:Deadly Alliance, it is gonna kick the unholy shit outta every other fighting game. Splinter Cell looks killer too. Why in the hell isn´t WWE RAW 2 gonna be released this year? Hmmm I´ve been thinking about the review at gamespot Crow T.
And I agree that it was pretty fair.It´s just that the guy didn´t score it higher because QR doesn´t bring in any new elements to the genre.Anyway once u get it can u post a review here?I´d be grateful.
Yeah I also thought that it wouldn´t have any ripping function
TFC.But luckily Curly Monsters must have put it in at the last minute.Kudos too them!!!

QR should have had shortcuts or more environmental interaction. Just think of weaving in out of a forest dodging trees at a high speed of 500 or mph just before flying straight off a cliff and down to an ocean´s surface. That would have made the game alot better. More interaction between the vehicles/racers and environment is what racing games need now. I´m getting tired of the same old follow the course routine. This game is Mad Hot though.

BTW. TO 555_666. Dead to Rights was really good, but it wasn´t awesome. I have had the game since its release and beat it in three days. It is worthy of at least an 8.5 out of 10. There is plenty wrong with it for it to be an Xbox exclusive especially graphics wise. They don´t move their mouth when they talk, their hands stay in a balled up position, Jack Slates muscles don´t look smooth, the music sucks ass, ect... The GamePlay was very good because there was a variety of things to do. The disarms were awesome, but in the end all of it just got too repetitive.

u sure can rip your own music and have your own playlist as well!! im loving this game more and more as I play it and upgrade my SPARC ;)
