Coming from the newly assembles Sega Division and developed by Smilebit, Sega have high hopes for Gun Valkyrie, a port from the now deceased DC...
If you want a fast past shoot 'em up then this one is for you. The down sides are that it could get repetitive and boring after awhile. Example: on multiple levels the objective is to kill all the enemies, that’s all.
The controls are tough but not impossible, its not exactly intuitive but I’m definitely getting better at it, I think once you master boosting (I haven’t yet) the game will be easier and faster. On a demo the player didn’t touch the ground once and avoided all of the enemies’ projectiles while doing it, he was invincible.
The bosses that I have fought so far are interesting and challenging. One of the most interesting features of it is, after each level you get a score depending on how quick you completed the level, How many monsters you killed, and you style. From the score you get GVP (Gunvalkirie Points) which you can spend on upgrades for you equipment, better shields, better weapons, disposable items, etc. So like I said this is a challenging FAST pass shooter, a lot of fun in my opinion
Graphics: The graphics are beautiful, the worlds are just amazing. The in door areas are just as beautiful. In my opinion it’s a damn pretty game. Not to mention the main character .
Story: The story is as believable as any anime. Sure its off the wall but if we wanted reality we wouldn’t play video games.
Sound: Definitely to my liking, its kind of techno, kind of not. The music is fast passed just like the gameplay so it fits well. The voices are done pretty well and the enemies’ sound good aswell.
Overall: Good game, but not an AMAZING game.
